Music Venue Trust + The National Lottery #ReviveLive Tour

Get prepared for a glorious sonic force, as we welcome the forward-thinking noise rock/post-post-punk DITZ to a Friday night headline show in Birkenhead on 15th July. This show is part of Music Venue Trust‘s Revive Live summer tour, which encourages music lovers, artists and crews to get back out on the road and taking part in live music again. What’s more, they’re encouraging you to share the joy of live music by partnering with The National Lottery to offer two for one tickets on this show, so that you can bring a friend to enjoy the show with you.
Tickets on sale now – see below for further details.

DITZ‘s debut album The Great Regression has been a long time coming – the five-piece first came together in Brighton at the end of 2015 and released their debut EP the following year. There have been a few line-up changes along the way, but they have been settled since their breakthrough tracks Gayboy, Total 90 and a cover of Peaches’ Fuck The Pain Away in 2019, which prompted Joe Talbot from Idles to proclaim “DITZ are the best band in Brighton, if not the world”. Even though the various lockdowns slowed the band’s momentum for a while, they turned the situation to their advantage, using the downtime to fine-tune this incredible debut, released on Alcopop Records.

Abrasive but accessible, The Great Regression is set to be one of the most important British guitar debuts of 2022. First single Ded Würst – a ferocious mix of Gilla Band, Foals and a lyric bemoaning the moral quandary of minimum-wage employment – unsurprisingly became an instant favourite of Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio 6 Music. Other highlights include The Warden, a song all about being too intense, ironically set to an intense backing somewhere between Deftones and Mogwai, and I Am Kate Moss, which, according to singer Cal Francis, is about “the separation between your visual and personal identities, particularly within the context of masculinity and femininity”.

We’ve all missed live music and our friends over the last couple of years. Now it’s time to #ComeTogether and #ReviveLive. Music Venue Trust has teamed up with The National Lottery to help to Revive Live music in grassroots music venues across the UK this summer with a fantastic line up of tours, one-off events and special performances. And it’s all about bringing friends and communities back together.

The National Lottery is supporting artists and crews to get out playing grassroots music venues in front of audiences, back where they are meant to be! But live music venues aren’t just about the shows. Live music is about bringing people together, celebrating that moment, that band, that song, together.

MVT and The National Lottery want to invite you to create new moments of shared experience with your family, friends and communities, because we understand the important role music plays in bringing people together. So for every National Lottery Revive Live Tour event, we are inviting every ticket holder to bring a plus one FOR FREE!

All you need to do to qualify for this offer is to show proof that one of you is a National Lottery player, either by showing us a physical lottery ticket, or one within your National Lottery app.

***Please note that the Free Ticket must be “purchased” along with your General Admission Ticket. The price you pay per ticket will display.***

Who is the person you have missed going to gigs with the most? Who is the person you want to celebrate the return of live music with? Secure your ticket and let us know on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtags #ReviveLive and #ComeTogether
