KARL BLAU | Future Yard

On Saturday 22nd April, we are delighted to be hosting boundary-pushing country artist Karl Blau in our live room. Now seven years after the Bella Union release Introducing Karl Blau and their Fallin’ Rain hit – and just on the heels of their Love & Harm release, featuring a return to the country spectrum but with a dose of grunge in the mix – Karl Blau has assembled a Philadelphia backing band of drums and bass to play their version of “Gruntry.”

With punk musician Corinne Dodenhoff (bassist and vocalist of Philly band Queasy) and master home recordist J. Salvage himself on the drums, Karl Blau And Country Gravel showed their new, louder brand of country on tours this past Fall to Georgia and parts south as well as up into New England. Well under way with writing songs for a new record, it’s now time Karl Blau And Country Gravel head to Olde England to test their new songs with us and share some cuts from Introducing… and Love & Harm, translated live through this exciting three-piece.

All-time FY fav Beija Flo supports along with a full band backing.

BEIJA FLO

KARL BLAU

Always impossible to pin down, Beija Flo’s sound is one that encompasses everything from open hearted balladry to acerbic punk. Tackling love and relationships through to mental and sexual health, she is truly an artist for our times, juxtaposing her darkest moments against those of enduring hope. To witness Beija Flo live is an unforgettable experience. Songs, performance and costumes aside she provokes a conversation that many would shy away from. Beija Flo’s reality is weaved through music, poetry and the narrative she shares with an ever growing audience. She joins Karl Blau this April along with a full band backing her unique live show.
