KEG+ DOG SPORT + BONK!
We’re extremely happy to be hosting muscular art-punk collective Keg here at Future Yard at the end of May. The seven-piece Brighton-based upstarts embrace the mayhem of the diverse tasted brought to the table by so many members, and fold it all into what sounds like one of the most undertakings in contemporary guitar music. Hailing from towns around the UK, and formed in Brighton, Keg have a propensity for complex, sweaty rhythms twinned with impish humour. This broth is ready to clog your arteries. Support on the night comes from Dog Sport + Bonk!.

Erupting from a frenzied passion for the ‘song’, Keg toe a fine line between the angular throb of contemporary post-rock sensibilities and a timeless necessity for harmony and meticulous songwriting. You can hear this push-pull woven into each of their compositions. What you may not hear upon first listen is the achingly personal nature of their lyrics as well as the myriad influences injected into it by its instrumentalists, all of who come from varied musical backgrounds.
Armed with a new-found wealth of influence and experience, these seven people – with a thirst for musical liberation – set forth on a new pilgrimage to the battered ruins of Golgotha. Having released their debut EP Assembly, Keg have toured the UK extensively bringing their enthralling live show to the masses sharing stages with the likes of Squid, PVA and Charles Hayward.
“The band’s debut EP ‘Assembly’ is a glorious success. Over 17 manic minutes, it is a torrent of animated, angular frenzy – a real juggernaut of an opening statement" - NME

Liverpool outfit, Dog Sport, compliment their own lived through pessimism with an energy and resilience that bleeds into their music via visceral guitar work and post punk poetry. They’re a Merseyside collective that aren’t to be missed.
Bonk! An onomatopoeia and musical idea – fusing bassline funk with jazzy grooves and soothing synth keys, all tangled up in bouncy guitar riffage. This band of four 20-somethings are a chaotic collective from Liverpool intent on collaging a set from a variety of genres, but all guaranteed to make the crowd Bonk!
