Wirral-based alternative rock group The Causeways released their debut single Quietly in November 2020, walking a line between indie pop and mellow rock. Now, they’re pushing boundaries to develop their own alternative sound. Will Cartmell, Matthew Wilson, and Ryan Robinson have been playing music together since they were 15, and with the addition of Sam Silver, The Causeways were formed.
Genre-blending Liverpool-based alternative pop artist Amber Jay draws on cinematic influences while harnessing deep emotions to produce energetic yet heartfelt tracks. She has gained support from the likes of Huw Stephens at BBC Radio 1, numerous plays on BBC Introducing and Spotify playlisting support with Pencilled Brims being added to the Fresh Finds: Pop editorial playlist, The House to Spotify SALT and Rainbow playlist all while gaining praise from a number of tastemakers. Earmilk named Amber’s artistry as having “no bounds” and music that will “bounce around in your brain for days”.
With her classic mellow voice, Ruby Walvin prides herself on her honest lyric writing. Her alternative indie pop songs embrace subjects like love, heartbreak and hope. Her first release was in 2020 with The Game, a sincere song about her personal experience with cancer treatment. The track was also used in the Teenage Cancer Trust’s Unstoppable campaign.
Mickey Callisto will take you through time and space with instantly recognisable melodies combined with a truly grandiose production of soaring synths, heavenly harmonies and most of all an indelible voice to gift you a complete package of a performer.
