We are hyped to announce that collaborative alt-rap project Marlowe (L’Orange + Solemn Brigham) will be performing at Future Yard in October as part of their UK tour around new album Marlowe 2. The album was released in August 2020 via Mello Music Group to great acclaim, with their unique blend of quickfire vocals and dusty breakbeats inspiring BBC Radio 6 Music to call the record “The most astonishing album of the year”.
Tickets on sale now.
Marlowe is a collaborative alt-rap project from Seattle-based hip-hop producer L’Orange and North Carolina rapper Solemn Brigham. Their unique blend of quickfire vocals and dusty breakbeats is most well-known on tracks Lost Arts and Tales From The East. The project came together in 2018 with the sole intent of marrying Brigham’s lyrics concerning social commentary, police brutality, and poverty with L’Orange’s thudding beats and crackling vinyl samples to achieve a new, refreshing take on hip-hop in modern times.
“All the tracks on Marlowe have a catchiness that recalls 1980s new wave or post-punk… His rhymes remain punchy and poetic with a verve that fits perfectly with L’Orange’s newfound groove.” - The Wire
