Salary: £12,355.20 p/annum (FT equivalent of £20,592)
Hours: Flexible. At least two half days per week at the venue, with scope for home / flexible working outside of this.

We are looking to add a Live Event Booker to the team delivering our wide range of live music events at our venue on Argyle Street, Birkenhead.

This is a unique opportunity to join the team at one of the UK’s most exciting new music venues. Since fully opening in the summer of 2021, we have played host to artists such as Gruff Rhys, OMD, Black Country New Road, Nubiyan Twist, Shame, Melt Yourself Down, Bodega and many more, with a programme encompassing the best in contemporary alternative, jazz, electronic and experimental music.

THE ROLE

Working alongside our Head Booker you will programme and curate live music events, with a particular focus on regional and local emerging talent. You will have a deep passion for the local music scene and be immersed and well connected within it. You will also support on the programming of festivals and showpiece events.

Showcasing emerging local talent is at the heart of why Future Yard exists. It will be your job to ensure the most exciting new local talent – across a range of genres and styles – is playing the venue; whether that be as support to national touring acts, part of our regular showcases, on our festival bills, our underage matinée shows or taking part in our artist development activities.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

You may be early in your music career and may well have other interests and projects alongside your role at Future Yard. We are keen to work with people who are active and immersed in the local music scene and can bring those connections, interests and passions to the role.

You will have a broad musical perspective and appreciation for a range of genres, reflecting the range of musical styles and perspectives that Future Yard showcases. You’ll have an eclectic and varied musical taste and an intimate knowledge of the Liverpool music scene; for example its artists, venues, promoters and festivals.

You will be at the heart of a small, passionate team working in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone with excellent organisational skills, who can manage and prioritise their workload independently, while communicating clearly and effectively with the team, colleagues, artists and partners.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about the regional music scene and has:

  • Experience of promoting or programming live music events
  • An intimate knowledge of the Liverpool music scene and be actively engaged in it
  • A broad musical perspective and appreciation for a range of genres
  • Great team working skills, flexibility and an appetite to continually develop
  • Excellent communication skills
  • You will be a well organised, disciplined self-starter
