OPEN MIC NIGHT

OPEN MIC NIGHT

Open mic night at Future Yard!

Our popular Tuesday open mic night takes place every week from 7pm to 11pm in the side bar (or, The Yellow Room). This chilled Tuesday evening session is a chance for all you singers, songwriters, musicians, and performers to come along and test out new material, get out of the bedroom and play to a welcoming audience of fellow artists.

Whether you’re a regular at the open mics in Liverpool and the Wirral or it’s your first time looking to show-off your work, there’s no better testing ground for new song ideas than around other performers, and The Yellow Room offers you that in a warm, friendly environment.

You don’t need to book in advance, just turn up on a Tuesday and play. Or if you just want to come along as an observer and listen to some great new music, you’ll also be most welcome.

Storied musician and FY Propellor Mentor Katie Mac is the primary host of our weekly open mic night, guiding you effortlessly through the evening. Katie is a vastly experienced live + recording artist and the perfect host for a relaxed, supportive vibe.

A number of additional guest hosts will drop by to perform and invite some collaborators along throughout the year, but it’s very much an open door policy and we want to see people turning up on the night with a bag of ideas and performing for our receptive regular open mic crowd!

If you need to get in touch with anything about the open mic night – travel, specific access requirements, setup for the night – you can get in touch with our host on openmic@futureyard.org. Please also see our FAQ page and our Covid-19 procedures for further details.
