Are you super organised, passionate about music and love working with people? We are on the lookout for a Skills + Learning Coordinator to help manage the smooth running of our exciting music education programmes, including the high-energy world of Mosh Tots, the youth-powered creativity of New Noise and our brand new, dynamic schools programme.
From coordinating band clubs and instrumental lessons to organising New Noise sessions, planning and supporting Mosh Tots shows and liaising with schools, you will also handle public facing comms, and keep everything ticking behind the scenes, you’ll be right at the heart of making the magic happen.
You’ll work closely with our Creative Practitioners to ensure they have what they need to deliver inspiring sessions on stage and in classrooms, while also making sure every young person, parent and partner has a great experience along the way.
If you’re someone who loves spreadsheets and sound checks, can balance logistics with people skills and thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment, we want to hear from you.
Not sure if you have the skills but think that you might have the potential? We’ll help you get there – just get in touch!
This is a unique opportunity to join the team at one of the UK’s most exciting new music organisations. Since fully opening in the summer of 2021, we have played host to artists such as Nadine Shah, Anna Calvi, Gruff Rhys, OMD, Doves, Black Country New Road, Everything Everything, English Teacher, The Zutons, Nubiyan Twist, Shame, Melt Yourself Down, Dry Cleaning, The Coral, Bodega and many more, with a programme encompassing the best in contemporary alternative, jazz, electronic and experimental music.
Future Yard is committed to providing a range of pathways for local young people to develop the skills needed to embark on careers within the live music industry.
As a member of the Future Yard family you will benefit from a range of bonuses, including: free entry to all Future Yard shows, training and social events, our cycle to work scheme, paid training, ongoing development opportunities and a brilliant range of staff discounts.
Future Yard takes its safeguarding responsibilities to children and vulnerable adults very seriously and is committed to providing a safe environment for all who walk through our doors. We expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for a methodical, innovative and driven professional who is passionate about music, and in particular is passionate about making music accessible to all.
You’re not just highly organised, you also care deeply about people, music and the power of education. You thrive in a role where no two days are the same and love helping others succeed.
We are particularly looking for an individual who shares Future Yard’s values and who is:
- A natural organiser – You’re the one who keeps things on track, anticipates challenges, and gets everything where it needs to be.
- An excellent communicator – Whether it’s chatting to a teacher, emailing a parent, or briefing a band, you’re confident and kind in how you communicate.
- Loves music and creative learning – You don’t need to be a musician, but you get why music matters and believe in the value of creative education.
- A relationship builder – You can maintain positive working relationships across different people and organisations, always with professionalism and empathy.
- Flexible and calm under pressure – Things don’t always go to plan, but you can adapt, find solutions, and help others stay grounded.
- Values-led – You care about inclusion, safeguarding, and making sure all young people feel welcome, supported, and able to thrive.
- Tech confident – You’re comfortable with email, calendars, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Social media savvy – You understand how to capture and share great moments from our programmes, and you’re confident using online platforms to celebrate our work and engage our community.
- Event confident – You’re comfortable supporting and leading events or eager to build experience in this area.
- Has a passion for the power of culture and a deep interest in music.
- Is a well organised, disciplined self-starter
Don’t tick every box? If you’re enthusiastic, capable, and willing to learn, we still want to hear from you.
