We are looking to recruit new Kitchen Team members to work in our busy pizza kitchen, servicing our wide range of live music events at our venue on Argyle Street, Birkenhead.

Future Yard are looking for people with prior kitchen experience to join our Bar + Kitchen team working on delivering high quality events. The successful individual will join our team of kitchen staff working in our new pizza kitchen.

This is a unique opportunity to join the team at one of the UK’s most exciting new music venues. With a bar, coffee shop, live venue, vegetarian kitchen and garden open seven days a week, we have played host to artists such as Gruff Rhys, OMD, Black Country New Road, Nubiyan Twist, Shame, Melt Yourself Down, Bodega and many more, with a programme encompassing the best in contemporary alternative, jazz, electronic and experimental music.

THE ROLE

We are looking to add to our Kitchen Team to deliver our food and drink operation across our programme of live music, special events and during regular opening hours.

In our kitchen, you will prepare and serve our delicious range of vegetarian and vegan Neapolitan-style pizzas. As a member of the Kitchen Team your role will be to contribute to the delivery of all aspects of Future Yard’s kitchen offer – including occasional direct customer service responsibilities. You will be knowledgeable and interested to learn about our products, sharing this knowledge with customers.

You will receive full training in our specific menu, and in any other areas deemed necessary. You will require a knowledge of basic food hygiene, and you will be warm, friendly and engaging with customers.

You will carry out your activities in a busy, high energy, fast-paced and fun environment.

You may also process deliveries, perform deep cleaning tasks and stock takes when required, all under supervision of our Food + Beverage Manager.

This is a fixed term role for 9 months. At the end of this fixed term, we will consider extending your contract based on the needs of the business and your performance.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Though we are looking for people with prior kitchen and food prep experience – we are equally keen to bring people into the Future Yard family who are passionate about what we do, who love live music, are driven to deliver excellence in what they do, love hospitality and are keen to develop their skills.

We are looking for an individual with a passion for delivering high quality food and service to customers, and a commitment to maintaining and clean and safe working environment.

Every person who enters Future Yard should be treated with respect and kindness. Customers should be served as quickly as possible and have the best possible customer service experience.

As a member of the Future Yard family you will benefit from a range of bonuses, including: free entry to selected Future Yard shows, training and social events, our cycle to work scheme, paid training, ongoing development opportunities and a range of staff discounts.

Future Yard is a non-profit, Community Interest Company. We have been established to utilise the power of music to bring about meaningful change in Birkenhead, running a range of training, artist development and community programmes alongside our brilliant live music schedule. We are keen to work with people who share our vision of a dynamic community music venue and are driven to deliver excellence, every time we open our doors.

You will be at the heart of a small, passionate team working in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for people with excellent organisational skills, who can manage and prioritise their workload independently, while communicating clearly and effectively with their team, colleagues, customers, visiting artists, crew and promoters.

We are looking for individuals who share Future Yard’s values and have:

  • A love of live music and passion for delivering fantastic customer service
  • Previous kitchen experience
  • Prior experience of preparing pizzas and/or dough is preferred, but not essential
  • Knowledge of basic food hygiene
