THE DEAD DON'T STOP ('TIL THEY REACH THE TOP)
We are proud to host the fourth annual Birkenhead Day Of The Dead event on Saturday 21st November, taking place at Future Yard and Birkenhead Park. The Dead Don’t Stop (’til they reach the top) is the 2026 version, which will see the honouring of those who will be laid to rest in The People’s Pyramid. Daytime activity takes place at Future Yard, followed by a bricklaying ceremony at Birkenhead Park, then back to Future Yard for the AfterLife Party.

The Birkenhead Day Of The Dead is an annual event where, brick by brick, The People’s Pyramid gets built. On this day we celebrate life whilst remembering and honouring the dead.
The People’s Pyramid is a living monument to the dead, an ancient memorial being built now, founded by Jimmy Cauty and Bill Drummond (formerly known as The KLF, now operating as K2 Plant Hire Ltd).
Schedule of Works
Skool of the Spektacle – doors open 2pm at Future Yard
Spektacle Procession – starts from Future Yard at 5:30pm
Bricklaying Ceremony – at Birkenhead Park, gates open 6:30pm
Towerblock1 Sound&Vision System + Pyramid Levitation Attempt – 7-9pm
Sports Banger AfterLife Party – 9pm-3am at Future Yard
On the Birkenhead Day of the Dead we gather
to remember
to mourn
to celebrate
and
to build The People’s Pyramid.
By the people, for the people, of the people.
During the Skool of the Spektacle at Future Yard we get together to prepare for the day. We welcome the Brick Bearers, make props or learn roles to perform during the procession, or volunteer for tasks like sign carrying, traffic kone foghorn playing or traffic marshalling…. Or just hang out and buy merch.
In The Spektacle Procession we process in spektacular fashion to the bricklaying site in Birkenhead Park, stopping off at the Burning Trolley for The Naming of the Bricks and the Kalling Out of the Names of the Dead into the night.
At the Bricklaying Ceremony we witness new Bricks of Mu being laid with sound & vision by TowerBlock1, hear about the people being laid into the pyramid, watch The People’s Pyramid being built and see an attempt at pyramid levitation.
At the Sports Banger AfterLife Party back at Future Yard we Rave In Peace until the day’s end.
