TRAVEL INFORMATION

Due to the planned rail strikes on Saturday 20th August 2022, there will be a limited rail service running across the Merseyrail network between 07.30 and 18.30 – and NO SERVICE after 18.30. (Full details via Merseyrail). While this makes getting to Future Yard in this period that bit trickier, there are still plenty of other ways of reaching us via public transport.

We’re aware that customers attending Future Yard on this day will be concerned about getting to and from the venue if they have to rely on public transport. So we have looked at the latest information on bus times and taxis – including the last buses to depart to Liverpool and Chester – which we have included below. Hopefully this information will help you plan your journey to and from the venue in advance.

NB – the bus strike with Arriva has now ended, and full timetables will be running as usual.

MAP

TRAIN

A limited service will be in operation on the Merseyrail network, with hourly services running on each line between 07:30 and 18:30. There will be no rail replacement bus service in operation. Please see full timetables of these limited services in operation via Merseyrail. Note – limited hourly services will not be calling every station, so please check details before travelling.
There will be no train service operating on any of these lines after 6.30pm.

BUS

Future Yard is well served by a bus network, as we are less than a 5-minute walk from Birkenhead Bus Station. Bus services run all day from here to Liverpool, Chester and right across Wirral. There are also various other stops around Birkenhead town centre, and Woodside Bus Terminal. But due to the proximity of Birkenhead Bus Station, we recommend using that primarily. You can see full bus timetables via Merseytravel and plan your journey in advance.

TAXIS

Taxis will drop customers off and pick them up at the venue’s main entrance on Argyle Street. Argyle Satellite are our local private hire taxi service based in Birkenhead which we recommend. Bookings are taken primarily through an app, which you can download for iOS and Android. You can also call them on 0151 201 1111. It is recommended that you book in advance with them to avoid long waits. There is a limited black cab and Uber presence in the area, which is why we suggest using local private hire taxi services.

PARKING

We do not have designated parking at the venue. The area is well serviced by public parking on Argyle Street and a number of public car parks in the area (Argyle Street, Hinson Street/Henry Street, Bridge Street, Hamilton Square). The Hinson Street car park is free after 6pm.
