Pioneers of the jungle scene, Congo Natty + General Levy come to Birkenhead on the 30th January 2027.
Congo Natty is a pioneering figure in jungle and drum and bass music. Originally rising to fame as Rebel MC in the late 1980s, he achieved mainstream success with hits like Street Tuff alongside Double Trouble. Transitioning into jungle music in the 1990s, Congo Natty became synonymous with raw, reggae-infused drum and bass sounds.
His seminal album Jungle Revolution cemented his legacy, blending Rastafarian culture, conscious lyrics, and explosive basslines. Tracks such as UK Allstars and Jah Warriors remain timeless anthems of the genre. With his unwavering commitment to spreading positive messages through music, Congo Natty remains one of the most influential figures in the evolution of jungle and drum and bass.
General Levy, real veteran of the UK urban music scene, grew up influenced by reggae music and black culture. Thanks to his older brother, huge music fan, Paul was enabled to build up a consistent musical culture: from ska to rock steady, calypso to soul music, hip-hop to reggae music. Quickly, he went on writing his own lyrics and created his first sound system, “Third Dimension”, along with friends. At the age of 19 that General obtains an international recognition, awarded with several prizes: best reggae album, best single for ‘Heat’, and UK premiere MC. His song ‘Incredible’, a world success achieving top ten status in the national mainstream charts.
General Levy remains a Lionheart artist riding through the ups and downs of the music business and still maintaining focus, a love and joy for the business and people; and just like a fine wine getting even better with time and bringing the fire to any place he performs at!

Future Yard is open every day from 10am – so you can stop by for a coffee or a pre-show drink in our bar area whenever you like. Our pizza kitchen is open on weekends and before every gig, 5-9pm.
The live room doors open at 7:00pm (this is separate from our bar area), and music starts shortly after. The bar is open after the show.
