Merseyside Social Dance CIC presents Social Dance Lab: Shared Roots — a beginner-friendly night bringing Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba together at Future Yard.
Following the first Social Dance Lab: Latin Roots, Shared Roots expands the idea by bringing Kizomba into the programme and exploring connections and shared influences across social dance traditions shaped in Latin America, Africa and their diasporas.
The evening is designed as a journey through all three dances, with beginner-friendly classes in Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba, short 15-minute practice sessions between each class, followed by an SBK social where everyone can stay, practise, dance and connect. No partner or previous dance experience is needed.
Social Dance Lab is about connection, discovery and participation — creating a welcoming space where newcomers can learn together, meet people and gradually become part of a regular social dance community in Merseyside.

Made hot and fresh in-house each day, our pizzas use the best ingredients sourced from independent suppliers in Merseyside and beyond. The result is a classic Italian pizza handcrafted in Birkenhead, with a tasty new twist.

- Kitchen open 3pm-9pm for this event. Usual opening hours are 5-9pm on Fridays + Saturdays, plus all show days

VENUE INFO
Future Yard is open every day from 10am – so you can stop by for a coffee or a pre-show drink in our bar area whenever you like. Our pizza kitchen is open on weekends and before every gig, 5-9pm.
The live room doors open at 6:00pm (this is separate from our bar area), and music starts shortly after. The bar is open after the show.
